Glenaden Homes Featured in Construction in Focus

We’re proud to share that Glenaden Homes is featured in the September 2026 issue of Construction in Focus. The article, “Finer Things: Building with Integrity, Intention, and Communication,” looks at how we run our custom builds, whole-home renovations and major additions across the GTA, and what our clients can expect when they work with us.

Built on communication
Construction has a reputation for being chaotic. Homeowners often tell us stories about contractors who go quiet, or decisions that get rushed. We set out to do it differently. Every Glenaden Homes client has access to a project portal with a detailed day-by-day schedule, budget tracking, a change order process and every design detail in one place. We also hold bi-weekly site meetings, so clients always know what’s happening, even when they can’t get to the site.
Asked how the team keeps stress low during what can be a hectic time for homeowners, Vicki Rollins pointed to open communication:
“We keep open lines of communication through various means as much as possible. We try not to be shy about things; we never have a client calling us to ask what’s happening. Never. It doesn’t happen.”
— Vicki Rollins, in Construction in Focus
A builder’s background
Daniel Burrows started Glenaden Homes after beginning his career in framing, where he ran his own crew within a year, and then supervising major renovations in some of Toronto’s most established neighbourhoods. That hands-on background is why architects trust us with structural and complex renovations. In Toronto, where most homeowners renovate rather than build new, that experience matters.

Working alongside architects and designers
We see ourselves as the implementation team. Homeowners bring their own architects and designers, and our job is to build their vision as closely as possible, down to the last detail. Everything we build is custom finished. There are no builder-grade packages. This year, both projects we entered in the BILD RenoMark™ Awards were named top-three finalists, the first time we had ever submitted.
That standard carries through to our trades. Glenaden Homes works from a solid trade pool and aims to use the same trades on every project, people who share our vision and goals. As Dan put it in the article:
“Everyone knows what we’re all gunning for. We appreciate finer things.”
— Daniel Burrows, in Construction in Focus
